Shattered Alley is an Intermediate - Advanced feral dog roleplay. We have a 200 word minimum for every in character post. We have been around for a couple years; and [rerere] re-opened in the beginning of February of 2008. You are free to join a pack of your choice or roam the streets of Phereio City as a rouge. Orion sighed, listening to the gushing water ahead. He needed company, and badly. The pointer mix walked down a worn path. Trees towered over him, like the buildings of the city where he was held. I'm glad to be out of that place... Orion recalled the days where he was beaten hourly. Where, every time he woke up in fear he might be killed in a horrible way. Where he witnessed the endless torture of his friends and family. Orion shook his head to clear his thoughts.
"Those days are over, the humans are gone!" he said to himself. Even if Orion never saw another human in his life, he would still be afraid of them. He would always be cautious near any possible danger. His past made him the way he is, skittish and paranoid. Though, he never had trouble near any dogs.
Orion continued down a path until he came to the falls. The thundering cacophony of water rang in his highly developed ears. Raising his head, he sniffed the air to insure himself no other dogs were there. Orion wouldn't want any hostile company. He hadn't smelled or seen any other dogs, and relaxed his tense muscles.
"Much be-" he said, slumping on the ground. "tter.." he put his paw in the water, looking at his reflection. "I've gotten older..." Orion looked at his whitening fur. There were white rings around his eyes that weren't there before. With age, his muscles were weaker, though he sure wasn't a weak dog. Orion lay comfortably, his muscles sore from his trip to the forest. So far, it made him happy. Then, his consuming depression rose again.
The side of Orion that had been recently showing as depression was due to his extensive loneliness. Behind him a branch fell. He looked back, hope returning to his fading heart, but his hopes were dashed when he saw nothing was there.
"Give me a reason, why I shouldn't just jump into the river now!" He yelled to the sky.
We'll meet beyond the shore We'll kiss, just as before Happy we'll be, beyond the sea, And never again I'll go sailin'

Toshi slipped throught he brush and trees smoothly and quickly. Rabbits were abound in these woods so near the falls, but he wasn't currently interested in them. A quick survey of the area today would tell him whether or not the pack could possibly hole itself up for the next meeting. It was imperative that the other packs not have any access whatsoever to the plans that were to be laid out. The pack must expand. If he gave a significant show of force so soon after recieving the crown, he would be more respected or feared. The other packs would not interfere with the Reix or try to eliminate them. And if he could keep it that way until a true heir from Iris'bloodline could come to claim the throne, he would be ready to hand over a fresh and thoroughly strengthened Reix over to them. It was a goal worthy of his attention. Perhaps that was why he was the King now. He didn't deserve it, but perhaps a lesser canid must take the throne while the royalty waited for the pack to rise into a worthy class.
After all, after Iris' death there had been a sort of decline. Something dark and acrid had swept throught the air of this city, perhaps the same dark blots that fluttered on the dogs' peripheral vison night and day, and with that air had come the disappearance of many canines and humans. Perhaps people were just dying of starvation and the humans abandoning hope at rebuilding completely. Either way, Reix itself seemed shadowed to Tanto, the pack with the most territory of all. aNd behind it, the Dire. Solarai was the only pack that seemd absent completely, but Toshi was under the suspicion that either the Dire or some other demented force, natural or not, had swept into their ranks and obliderated them. He'd seen no Solarai members for months. But perhaps they were developing to a stage where they, rather than remaining so carefree and supportive of everythign around them, had become secretive and unseen. Anything was possible recently.
Suddenly a tremendous racket shot into his audits from afar. He understood... And here was a suicide threat. Why waste a life?? His parental instinct(though he shouldn't have one, he and Adelie had never touched sexually and he was not sure if she would consider him for mate-hood, but all non-threatening canine life must be protected. It was now his doctrine.) shoved all sense out of his way and he gave a tremendous bellow. "Hello? Is anyone there?" He rushed into the clearing ahead... And very nearly collided with the canine in front of him. He stared at teh male intently for a moment, waiting for him to speak. WAiting for a sign of persona to erupt and give this day a new life. Mords- 477 Muse- Better Other- sorry it took so long. :/

((OOC:WIP)) Orion shook his head in disapointment, and annoyance. "I'm such a mess...yelling to the sky..asking if I should live or die!" The hound-mix's heart sank. He had actually thought there would be a reply in the forest. He felt so alone, so empty, meaningless-while realisticly he could have a reason to live, a calling. It was an old dog he had lived with during his time with the humans, that gave him hope. The elder inspired him to go to the wild, find a pack, a mate...a new home. That old fleabag didn't know anything....The wild is a horrible, lonely, desolate place. orion shook his head, trying to convince himself it wasn't so. "I haven't been all over the city yet...there could still be hope!" Orion began to get up,, .
