Let's Spread Out....(Fred, Instinct, and OPEN) « Thread Started on Oct 17, 2009, 8:08pm »
Now Toshi found himself strinding along a warm city street, that is, until he realised he was peering into the lengthy, lonely shaft before him. A lone light flickered some distance down its depths. How interesting. The Tanto had claimed this territory... PErhaps the fact that they had vanished and he'd never experienced a bad relationship with them brought the reluctant Reix king into the depths of their lands. He found the incessant desire to expand the Reix lands, make this pack fit for his leaders to return to. That would surely be the best thing. A simple show of force in this now dwindling city would bring about the end of the Reix's troubles, and maybe even coax the otehr packs into some sort of alliance. A united front against any enemy or human would help tremendously. And the Dire with their wild and unruly nature would no longer be a threat to this pack's stability.
Now he wondered whether challenging for this land would be a safe risk to take. The Tanto had dwindled, this much was true, but how was he to know that they would not take major offense at this action or that this would not stir up some bitter rivalry? Iris had been deathly suspicious of the Tanto and its members. Should he take the same precautions? It seemed wise, to him at least, to let the land be for now and get into contact with what remained of that pack. His own was scattered about currently, and it was his job to bring them back together. What had happened to this city? Everyone and everything had vanished... Perhaps an alliance of the willing packs would fix some things in the dogs' favor. Maybe they could figure out why so many had disappeared and fix the problem. After all, survival was more important than petty boundaries. Even Wraith herself, psychotic bitch, would be able to see that. If it meant joining forces with those that had brought about Titinus' death, Toshi was still willing, though cautious. After all, which was more important; A grudge, or survival? Words- 352 Muse- Good, but I suck at starting. Suck bad. For- Fred and Instinct and anyone else who comes back. Otehr- Bad word count, but haven't had material with Toshi in a while. Hoep it works good for you guys to join in full force.

Sundown; the homicidal bitch had awoken just when it was her prime time of day, or, better said, night. Stretching, yawning, she eventually glanced down at her paws, all four a foot deep in crimson, with bodily matter of other sources clinging to the sticky fur. In fact, most of the femme’s pelt was not the least bit clean; mangled fur, blood stains and decaying flesh and gut pieces caking her thick fur. The once juvenile, puppyish and lively appearance had been swept away in the past weeks, nay months, the process of transformation to a nigh in-canine creature spitting out an eventual ghastly form, the cyan eyes sunken deep, allowing her to look as if she hadn’t slept in years. Though she was always on the thinner side, she now was, though not skinny, more lean in fact, bony. Her posture not holding the least bit of pride, her dial held lower as if too lazy to pick it up higher than her shoulders. And this somewhat unimposing creature was the Dire queen, a position she would have long abandoned had Dire even still existed. She still called the Direan territory her own and never went out of her way to slaughter any passerby; in fact, she had pretty much killed off any living being she came in contact with, not wanting to bother with social affairs. Anything extroverted about her, any small amount of kindness had been flushed away, leaving the physical form of something evil, insane, homicidal. Zero empathy now withheld in her skull and though she had favored a few canines in the past, such as Zy’riah and Pain, those relations were over; she felt no need for not killing either of them and actually wanted to rip through their guts and redecorate Dire territory with a new coat of blood.
A familiar scent lifted her attention; Reix, more precisely, Toshi, a canine she had rarely mingled with, as she never saw it fit to go through all the trouble in finding any of the other pack leaders. But her intentions were anything but political as she was making out what vibrancy his body fluids would bring to the dark shafts of the mine, the stench the decaying pieces of corpse would leave, a warning sign to any trespasser. Effortlessly she rose from the dead ground like a zombie walking out of its grave, ungraceful and almost clumsy, her appearance seeming somewhat skeletal against the dim moon. She followed the shepherd into the depths of the mine and watched as he sunk into his thoughts; it seemed any life form left in the city was an animal of solitude. With high speed and agility she warped towards him and brushed his fur as she was next to him within split-seconds, whispering into his ear with reeking breath, the stench of decay and decomposition strong. “Hey, Toshi. Guess who’s come to join the party?”

The warm rays of the summer sun were slowly fading away with each passing moment. The darkness of the night would soon be upon the city of Phereio, providing shadows with a newly discovered life. It was this time that most prepared themselves for a long night of sleep, but Rosalie was just awakening from her dreams. Her heavy lids lifted slowly from her copper optics, which were greeted instantly by the orange glow of the setting sun. Her chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm which each deep, slow breath as she entered back into the real world. She released an audible sigh from deep within her, rolling to her feet in the soft grass beneath her body.
She elevated herself from the ground so slowly that it appeared painful, but in a sense it was. Daily life had become almost a torment to have to experience each and every day. It seemed that there was no one left within the city, every other canine having long since disappeared. All but one in Rosalie’s family had seemingly vanished over night, along with the rest of the Tanto pack, and the friends that she had grown to love in her time within the city. Now, all of this had faded away in the blink of an eye, leaving her to go at it alone as she tried desperately to rebuild what she had lost. Every day she searched for her family: for her mate Jasper, for either Maeve or Fixx, for anyone who had once called the Tanto pack their home. The Tanto queen spent days on end searching, just hoping that she would find someone, just someone who she could recruit to the pack so that it could flourish once again, and leave its leader no longer alone.
Each step Rosalie took was forced, for she knew that as a leader she could not give up. It was her duty to fight for Tanto, even if she and her son were the only two left. She knew that she had to make things better somehow, even if it seemed like a futile effort every single day. The cool air of the summer night blew gently against her wispy pelt, chilling her in a way that had nothing to do with temperature.
Continuing along, a familiar scent filled her nostrils. She inhaled deeply the scent of her pack that filled the territory that belonged to Tanto. She could not fathom how long it had been since someone had come here, the distinct aroma of Tanto faded away, though not entirely lost. Rosalie detected a strange yet known smell within that of her territory. She recognized it almost instantly: a strange combination of Riex and Dire. It was not the general scent she captured, but that of the two leaders Toshi and Wraith, whom she knew plenty about. She was curious as to what these two leaders were doing in Tanto territory together. Looking for her? Wanting to claim a new territory? Having a chance encounter? Or was Wraith going to do to Toshi what she did to all of the canines that crossed her path? She assumed that it was most likely the latter, for although times had changed, Wraith most likely had not.
Rosalie slipped into the shadows of the dark, lengthy tunnel of McBeck’s Mine, following her nose toward the two other canines. She did not know what she was walking into, but the idea of seeing another dog was enough to keep her going. She had barely entered the mine when she saw them. Toshi stood in the center, unaware of the Dire queen who stood so closely to his side. Rosalie could tell by the Direan’s expression, that talking was the last thing on her mind. ”Well hello Wraith and Toshi.” The queen spoke, making her presence known. She took a few steps close to the pair, coming to a stop a short distance away, with her gaze resting on each of the canines ”What brings you here?”

Sunset over the now barren wasteland once called Pherieo, the city was once crawling with the strays. But now barely any life was left, soon all the dogs might perish. The only living things making noise was the passing birds, who rarely ever stayed a season. In the middle of the broken road, lies a garbage can, with an old crow that had died long ago. Small movement in the ripped bag made two ice cold eyes peer around a large mound of leaves, and slowly, a small bulldog pulled the rotten meat out of the can. Now the eyes had turned into a shadow, and before the bulldog had a chance see it coming, the small dog's spine had been snapped. The white mutt was now shaking it fiercely, blood splattering on it's coat and on the pavement. Blood had pooled on the ground below and the white creature dropped it's victim into it. The white dog was Cadillac, he disappeared a long while back and this was his first time back. He wasn't suprised at the deserted city at all, in fact, he'd figured he should move on before the city was left to die by the strays. But he had been brought back by his own will. Cadillac ripped the dog open, with even more blood on is features, he began to eat.
His auds picked up the slight sound of nails clicking agianst the pavement. Cadillac's skull picked up, his nose, mouth and other features covered in blood. The white mutt moved towards the noise, before he picked up a slight scent of a female dog. He slinked towards the old mine shaft, his ice blue eyes peered up at the blinking light above. The light went out, and he slinked forward, following the scent. A horrible scent was picked up, a horrible scent that he had smelled a very long while back. Cadillac had also picked up a male and the female he had smelled previously. He moved forward with great speed, until he saw three shadows. The white mutt walked right in front of the three, letting a cold and almost menacing smile. "Well I seem to be tarty to the party..." He let roll off his tongue, as he waited for a response, he let his mind wonder onto other subjects.

Screwed. He was epically screwed. Before he'd even had time to turn, he'd been met b Wriath's cold, harrowing cords and then Rosalie's softer, almost cheerful ones. And he didn't know who the hell the male was. All he knew was that he didn't trust two of them and that he'd been caught once again in a daze, and soo nit would likely be the death of him. After all, one so conniving as Wraith coudl easily invent ways to annihalate him silently when he was concentrating on other things. Now, when was the last time he'd met either of the females again? It had certainly been quite a while, long before he'd ascended to the position on the throne. But surely even in the city's desolate and abandoned state word spread quickly? He hadn't been in power long, it was true. Now, he found himselfr in a bind. If the male was as malevolent as he sounded then it would be a time indeed were there a scuffle. After all, Wraith was younger than he and undoubtedly more skilled at combat. Yes, if the Reix were to grow any more powerful they would need professionals to help them fight. Iris and her kin, even lord Syndrome and Titinus, none of them had been pushovers. Toshi? He was a big, soft daydreamer. An easy target. The most complex maneuvre he'd really ever pulled off had been getting Shrapnel off of him the one time, and he'd been reluctant to do that. He turned at a moderate speed, and was quick to get his thoughts in order. Just try to avoid a conflict....
Drive! You're not going to be prepared for this! You left a trail 'o red, crossed it on your front door An' I'm here so You're first on my List of things to do today!!
"Long time no see, dearest Wraith. Doing well for yourself, I presume? Not too much trouble with anything, family's all well, pack in order?" Treating Wraith like a casual friend, perhaps, would be the proper approach. After all, it would do him no good to be overly polite or hostile at all. And the other two... Now to get to them. "And Rosalie, you're also alright, I should hope? ... You." He looked to the white dog whosename he did not know. "We haven't met, have we? Let me start- I'm Toshi, 'tis a pleasure." He'd changed since he'd coem to the throne. He had to, of course. A leader couldn't be small and subordinating liek he'd been as a simple pack member. That would not do at all. So he had steleld himself. He'd have to be careful, and firm. Thus he would. If there was trouble, he doubted that Rosalie would side with Wraith. If there was no problem, then hopefully this could be a beneficial encounter in at least one respect. Tiem to turn the conversation away from introductions... "Rosalie, you're of the Tanto. How does this tunnel do in the winter? Just out of curiosity, of course. Personally I'm more fond of such structures as the Theatre, but I was in the area and I thought I'd stop by." That's right, leave out the part where for a split second you'd thought of stealing this territory right out from under her nose. But truly, he had changed his mind. No good to steal land when there was open territory all over. The Theatre! Of course, he should claim it!
Follow me Outside and I'll... Feed those hungry Eyes of yours
Afterall, it would be beneficial. It was warm, good shelter and there was pletny of usable material therein, such as hte fabric in the curtains for beds, and there were plenty of pidgeons in the area at one time. There were bound to be more where those had come from. Now all he had to do was wait on these others, and hope he could pull through this tight situation. There was an air of danger with The white one and with Wraith, and he would need his wits about him to evade it becoming sticky. No one wanted to end up sprawled and bleeding upon the floor.
Lyrics- Fightstar w/ "Deathcar." Haven't stopped listening to this song since I got it, hehe. Thus I had to include it. Words- 660 Muse- Great. Other- Your post was better than my first one, Fred. Hope this satisfies, I've gotta change the way he plays so he can lead. Think thsi is my first thread with you, In and Fred, and I thin kthis is Toshi's first thread with Wraith, if I'm right. Yea, because We haven't had a thread since I was using Valk. *cringes at badly-made character* Maybe I should revive him.... Nope, no, definitely not. This Thread's gonna be good. My word count is already picking back up. Typo's should be minimal.

The hellion spun around as soon as she winded the presence of the female, her light reflected from her cyanic orbs piercing through the darkness like sniper bullets, similarly hitting their acquired target. Oh, right; Wraith had nearly forgotten that Tanto was under new management, vaguely remembering when Tyrone had ruled; though she had never met the brute on good terms, rarely came in contact with him at all, actually, she had only heard how good an alpha he was; though it seems time had crumbled what he once built and left the unfortunate soul, Rosalie, as its victim, abandoning her of most of the pack. It didn’t take an idiot to notice the unnatural lack of life in Phereio; had it been a famine, a number of homicidal maniacs like her, or anything alike, the disappearance would never have been so drastic and sudden, but would have been a growing process. The husky hybrid sensed that the species of Homo sapiens had interfered with the nigh utopia canines had recreated within the boundaries of Phereio.
Her jaws parted, revealing a morbid smile, her ivories jagged from overuse; it seemed teeth could not always crunch through bone unharmed. She glanced at Rosalie with a concoction of insanity, sadism and anything else with a connection to what was bad, as if she was about to spring at the bitch, intent on shredding her to pieces. But, as demented as one gets, that was not the case and instead of lurching at the Tanto female full throttle, she smoothened her expression to a less harsher tone, her firstly devious grin misshapen to a cocky, yet harmless smile. It was a rare occasion after all that three of the four met, specifically not on hostile matters. To answer the girl’s question, Wraith opened her kisser and began to reply. “Greetings, Rosalie. Oh, I don’t know, Just pass-” She was suddenly interrupted as a form of white, or at least what she made out as white in the dark, that had approached, immediately a snarky remark in his vocals. Wraith cracked a thin, twisted smile as she recognized the perpetrator. “Cadillac. I was wondering when you bastard would finally show yourself…I’ve been ever so pleased with the absence of a variety of Dire members, including yourself; I would hate for things to go back the way they were, so I guess I’ll get to you later…” Smiling sweetly, she turned her head from facing the male back to look at Rosalie. “As I was saying, I was merely passing through; you know, wandering…there’s not much else you can do nowadays and toys, prey, victims just don’t come walking in the front door anymore either.”
Wraith brushed passed Rosalie and circled around, so that her path now led around Toshi and the Tanto female, eying both of them with wariness; though the other two seemed to hold the conversation at peace for now, the bitch would eventually make quick work of that and their meeting would break out into chaos, just like everything else in the city. Her ears pricked as she hearkened what the Reix king had said. “Family’s as well as one can be six foot deep; same goes for the pack.” Her cold stare immediately shot at the male, letting him know that the former bunch’s end had happened thanks to her; the pack, on the other hand, was mainly killed by whatever had made everything else vanish and out of boredom, hunger, and alike, the Dire captain eliminated the little amount of stragglers best she could, though she was certain few had been lurking here and there. The bitch was never fond of pack life, and she could care less if the pack had survived or not; for all she cared, they could be rotting in hell, quite the fate she so dearly wished upon Cadillac.
