Shattered Alley is an Intermediate - Advanced feral dog roleplay. We have a 200 word minimum for every in character post. We have been around for a couple years; and [rerere] re-opened in the beginning of February of 2008. You are free to join a pack of your choice or roam the streets of Phereio City as a rouge. Although, there is a twist in this beautiful setting. Phereio suffered a horrible earthquake, and is now shaken to its limits. Few humans still colonize in small parts of the suburbs, but everywhere else: disaster has written it's name.

The Rule Book « Thread Started on Jun 3, 2008, 11:36pm »
[ I know there are a lot, but please read through them and get the idea of the rules so you don't make a silly mistake that may cause you to come across as a fool =p ]
Basic Rules
.One: Please do not swear excessively when out of character. You may do it when in character, as often foul language is a strong definer of the 'evil' characters. Though OOCly it looks plain trashy, and is often not appropriate for all audiences on this site.
.Two: Respect. I don't want to see excessive fighting or rude comments. You should always respect each other, guests and staff OOCly. It takes two to fight, remember. I don't care who started it, if the fight gets bad enough, all people involved are going to get in trouble.
.Three: Most defiantly no flooding or spamming. Flooding is when you post letters or symbols more than three times in a row. Spamming is constantly posting or flooding with unnecessary garbage. Also, please keep chat speak on the down low. Most members don't like it. So, as rule two says, respect them and speak properly. Acronyms, like omg, brb, ooc, etc. are alright, as those are common and save time in OOC.
Account Rules
.Four: Please be reasonable with your account's name. Many members don't appreciate 'screen names' like puppyluver223. They make it hard to look upon you seriously. Try to use the name of your character or a cool nickname. Also be sure to try and not have names that are very close to someone else's so you do not get confused with them.
.Five: Dear god, please don't put inappropriate images in your signature or as your avatar. Keep signatures to a reasonable size. It's width may not stretch the page, and it's height shouldn't be too large, for they are signatures, not second posts. =b
Character Rules
.Six: You may not have a wolf/dingo/coyote, or any wild canine breed for that matter. You may also not have a hybrid. The only way you can make a hybrid character is if you win the pass in one of our many contests we usually have available. You may not use any wild canine or hybrid canine pictures. Its stupid. If your not allowed to have the breed, why would you still use the image?
.Seven: This is a realistic feral dog role play. This means no odd colors, unrealistic markings, powers, or magical histories. Oh, and you you didn't catch the dog part, this is a dog role play. Not a cat, not a horse; a dog. :) Finally, don't use chemicals to mutate your dogs to get around this rule! No-way, man.
.Eight: Remember, these dogs are on the streets, and have been for a while. Missing limbs, disease, malnutrition, and underweight dogs are common in real life, so don't be afraid to make them here. Although, you should be afraid to make dogs that will end up god modding with ultra heavy muscle and 70 mile per hour speed. It isn't going to happen, so don't make it, kids. =b
.Nine: I'm sorry, but the character limit is set to ten per person. Please maintain your characters properly and keep all of them active. You may not create second accounts to get around the character limit. In the case of a litter: the role player of each of the parents may keep one of the pups each if they wish, and then the other surviving ones should be put of for an adoption so another member can role play it. I think its fair, and then you don't get over run with puppies. Remember: If you lose interest in a character, you may put it up for adoption, or of course, kill it. :P
*Note: You may not make a character under the age of 12 months. If you would like to roleplay a pup, you may try out for one of the pups in a litter born on the site.
Role play Rules
.Ten: The minimum for each in character post in 200 words. There are no exceptions. If you want to role play here, you must meet that requirement every time. If A post is found to be to short, you will be messages and be asked to add more to it. There is a post counter at the bottom of every page. Use it! Remember lyrics and extra tidbits should not be included in the post count. Lyrics are by other people; they weren't produced by your creativity. You should only count the in character response. It helps other members and staff if you simply keep the post count under every post. Its not that hard, and it makes you look smart. ;D
.Eleven: Liquid time is permitted. Your character may be in a total of four threads at a time, and no more. You are allowed to withdraw from a thread if it becomes inactive. Once a thread moves to the archives it no longer counts as one of the three.
Pack Rules
.Twelve: You are allowed to challenge for the lead position of any of the four packs. If you decide to challenge for this position, make a strong post in which you challenge the current leader, then PM me the link ASAP. They must respond within the following week, unless they have posted in the away board. If they don't respond, it counts as a forfeit and the challenger becomes the new leader. Each leader has a one week immunity after a victory before another dog can challenge for the position. The leaders will be assigned to the pack board, and become responsible for accepting new members and creating their own hierarchy (if they wish) and assigning the dogs their positions. If you challenge and lose the fight, you may not just jump to challenge the next pack, and may not challenge them right away. You must wait atleast wait a month inbetween challenges.
.Thirteen: To join a pack you must "register." After creating your character, go to the pack's information board and there should be a pack register thread. simply fill out the form and wait for the leader to accept you!
.Fourteen: You may fight for pack land. If you want to claim another pack's territory, you must fight. You should post on that board and wait for the pack to reply. If you wish, you can raise the ratio. You may have three on three; three dogs from each pack. Two on two, or one on one. The max for each fight is three on each side. Any pack member can challenge for it. It does count as a real fight, so remember to contact the admin with the thread ASAP.
Reproduction Rules
.Fifteen: No graphic breeding. Simple as that. It isn't fun to read or look at, and trashes the site. I don't personally know why you would like to role play such a thing in pure description. When it comes to the actual intercourse, you could have a time warp and skip it, or say what happened in an extremely watered down, mild way.
.Sixteen: I don't like to see people become mates with a character and produce offspring in the same thread. That probably wouldn't occur. If you find a mate, please wait a while to have children. Let us say a minimum of a week before having the new thread for the.. creating. If you are in a pack, you shoul ask the leader's permission ICly. In addition, breeding occurs in Spring or Summer, where as fall and winter breeding may not take place. Though, if your characters breed late summer; their pups may still have a birthdate in the beginning of fall.
.Seventeen: Once you are finished with your threads and have prepared up to the point of creating the offspring, you may fill out the forms for each parent and post them in the correct board. You then will need to wait for me to randomize those pups and I will give you the results of your breeding. Remember you may only breed for children in the spring and summer. You will be given a birth date, and if you do not role play on that date or within the next few days, the puppies will miscarriage.
.Eighteen: Pups will age four months each season after their birth. Remember though, if they were born late summer, they will not be four months until late autumn. Pups can not breed until they are two and may not be successful until they are about three.
Fighting Rules
.Nineteen: When you challenge or a fight starts, remember to automatically contact the administrator. Either I or a designated staff member will fairly judge the fight off of attacks, dodges, and over all role play ability.
.Twenty: Each dog in the fight gets two attacks and one dodge. They get three posts. An introduction, and then their fighting posts. Afterward the staff member will officially acknowledge the wounds you have received ( even though you would have also done so in your post ) and would claim the rightful winner(s) of the fight.
THANKS for reading all these. Now it is time for you to set off and begin your wonderful journey in the City of Phereio. Good luck and have fun!
