Shattered Alley is an Intermediate - Advanced feral dog roleplay. We have a 200 word minimum for every in character post. We have been around for a couple years; and [rerere] re-opened in the beginning of February of 2008. You are free to join a pack of your choice or roam the streets of Phereio City as a rouge. Although, there is a twist in this beautiful setting. Phereio suffered a horrible earthquake, and is now shaken to its limits. Few humans still colonize in small parts of the suburbs, but everywhere else: disaster has written it's name.

There... Shoving one last crumbling crate into position, Fiadh pauses to survey her work. She's at some warehouses that border a large body of water. On her left are the cracked buildings staring out to the water, their empty windows shadowed, forlorn eyes. Gazing out onto the long strip of grass chocked planks, her sharp eyes pick out stray bits of metal glinting dully under the noon sun. Hmm... those would be painful to walk on. Stepping gingerly through the spiked grass, she bends down and drags the various pieces of metal out of the path she's made.

Grimacing at the rusty taste that fills her mouth, the fleethound female drops the final piece over the dock and into the murky waters below. As she turns away, a faint plop sounds. Shaking herself, the Saluki falls into an easy lope that carries her down the long strip of boardwalk, the grass vanishing and turning into moss the farther away from land she gets. Stepping out onto the boat dock that sits at the end of the strip, she turns around and falls still.

Stretched out in front of her is a self made obstacle course. Some of the lights and sign posts have fallen across the way. Other items, such as machines, rocks and stacks of boxes also break up what could have been a clear easy walkway. She'd also gone through and pushed in single crates and other hindrances to make it even more difficult. Now that she's cleared the area of any harmful items and made note of places not to go, she's ready.

This looks challenging. Can I do it? She hesitates, unsure. A soft sigh escapes her. I need to. Some dogs are able to move very well in tight areas. I can outrun them if it's a clear stretch but not if it's a maze of buildings. I must use my speed and maneuverability to it's fullest. After almost being caught by a bigger, seemingly slower dog and only escaping through very good luck, she's decided that some training is in order.

Alright... Taking a deep breathe, Fiadh turns her whole body to fully face the course. A soft breeze picks up and sprays her with a light mist from the water. Muscles taunt, the fleethound female breaks out into a flat out run. Long legs pumping, feathered tail and ears fluttering in the wind, eyes set straight and true, she speeds along at an astounding rate. Lungs pumping and heart beating, she dashes around a large pile of pipes that bar her way, only to make a quick turn as a line of crates almost trip her up. Luckily, she's light on her feet and very flexible.

Twisting away from the crates, she dodges and ducks under various items until she's dashing towards the spot that she'd been nervous about. This will take timing. Expression determined, she picks up her speed, heading directly to a high wall of stacked concrete blocks.

Wind whistling in her ears, Fiadh's concentration narrows down to only the obstacle before her. Gathering her hind legs under her, she leaps! Fly! Legs rising up and muzzle pointed to the front, her body stretches out to it's fullest length. With ears flapping and tail streaming behind her, she truly does look like she's flying.

Elation burns through her veins as she just barely makes it over the top of the wall. But it's replaced by instant dismay when her left hind paw clips the edge of one block, throwing her off balance. Long tail whirling in desperation, she falls. Seeing the ground rising swiftly towards her, Fiadh twists her body to the side, not wanting to injure her legs. Her body thuds into the planks below, its light frame bouncing and skidding along at the force of the impact.

Coming to a rest, ripped up bits of grass and dirt drifts over her shuddering form. Pain courses through her, her lungs burning for air that she just can't seem to draw. Stunned, she lays where she fell, struggling to breathe. But one thought keeps running around her head, like so many quail darting about the brush.

I made it over... I made it over!
